In 2009, high school friends from Massachusetts formed Dubbest, a reggae band blending their jam band influences with 70s and 80s Jamaican reggae. Their DIY ethos led to their debut album, “Avoid the Pier,” in 2012. Teaming up with Craig “Dubfader” Welsch, they released the single “Heat and Water” in 2013 and their second album, “Light Flashes,” in 2015, followed by a cross-country tour. Relocating to San Diego in 2016, they joined the local reggae scene and released “Live at the Belly Up.” Their third album, “Gold Fever,” came out in 2019. In 2022, they toured with KBong and co-released “Love is a Celebration.” In 2023, Dubbest announced a new album and tour, releasing the single “Right Your Wrongs” and its dub version.
